I have zero programming experience. Tell me some useful and/or fun projects to make.
I was going to, but then I noticed you posted a frog. Too bad.

Write a function that takes a double precision floating point number A and returns the next largest double precision floating point number B that is representable in IEEE754 and that satisfies B > A, where no IEEE754 representable C exists satisfying B > C > A.
This should be a useful learning experience both for programming and analytic thinking.
This task also filters 100% of the people on this board.

do you like pokemon?
>>93691819
I don't know how to do this nor do I see the point of solving it, therefore my brain is uninterested and bored looking at it.
>>93691819
this is retarded
>>93691845
I don't do stocks and making a calculator seems pointless if they already exist. The animation thing would be interesting but ai just tried it and don't know how to operate it or what limits it has.
>>93691838
I like FPS games but not too much of a fan of pokemon.
>>93691912
it's going to be hard to make something that doesn't already exist if you're just starting
"Useful" is something you define. What would you consider useful? For some people the word "useful" means very specific niche shit that they do everyday. A lot of very specialized tools in the industry were invented for this reason.
Define what you consider useful, and you'll be on your way.

I do wonder what exactly makes programming fun for you guys?

A website but no point of making one if nobody will visit it
Pong or Breakout clone in something simple like Godot Engine or HTML5. Shouldn't take more than an hour for a total noob.

>no point of making one if nobody will visit it
That's where SEO comes in, which you can also learn. This is a good starting point to start making useful shit though. You have written something that leads to a useful program.
Your problem: "I want people to see my website"
The solution: "Find out what people are searching for"
Thus, you could make scripts that try and queries relevant databases to know what keywords are popular, in relation to whatever your website is about. This is very useful to you, which was why i asked in the first place. First learn how to query a website for information (for example, python's request library). Then learn how to parse that information (multiple ways to go about it). Then output the information in a legible way (Save it as a CSV for example).
As to your other question, programming is fun because you get to be creative sometimes with how you approach certain things. It feels really good to say you made something and you know for sure that your approach is good, or novel.

download "Tiny C Projects" an get to work

>I do wonder what exactly makes programming fun for you guys?
Some people program just because they enjoy it, and others try to make something that will make them money, and some others do it because they just want a job. I mostly do it because i like making stuff and I'd like to make something that makes me some passive income
>>93691837
Explain how the implementation works on a technical level.
>>93692071
You'll never out spam the companies who have been doing this for decades and have cash to pour into it and tracking every algorithm change.

>>93692071
seo is dead nobody googles anymore chatgpt is here
>>93691768 (OP)
write code to make LLMs write code for you
>>93692800
the point isn't to outclass companies who have done this for a living the point is to get how it works and solve a problem without having to pay another company for it
>>93691801
How did you notice the frog after the text? I don't think that's possible...
>>93691768 (OP)
Emulators
>>93692822
If your problem is getting search traffic by generating spam then you will fail because it's inherently a competitive activity.
>>93692899
You can continue to believe that everything's been done and that there's no point waking up in the morning, in the meantime people who want to learn how shit works research and experiment. that's what real programmers do.
>>93692931
This is an area where you can be 100% confident that any low hanging fruit has been well and truly sucked dry.
>>93691768 (OP)
Write script that will download all images in 4chan thread and saves them in the folder. It should preserve the names of the files posted.
>>93692960
not this
>>93692804

automating programming via LLMs was only born a few months ago
A program that scrapes a 4chan page. Then adds that frog into every reply.
